Reversing chart positions for a couple when no Switch Tool is available: a case study

I am working on a tree for a living person. His mother appears on the left side of pedigree charts that began with the living son, but not on the charts that began with his deceased brother.

I tried deleting the relationship of the parents, then adding it back in, also removing the living child from the family and relinking him. Neither worked.

I finally deleted the living son and then restored him. That corrected the problem

Yes, the best solution is to make sure that the husband is on the left in the Person 1 position and the wife is on the right in the Person 2 position before you add the child.

    Your comment is not helpful.

I have a second tree with the same problem with the parents of a deceased child, but deleting the deceased son and restoring him did not solve the problem. PID is GTZ8-M31. On his Person page the parents are in the correct position, but the fan and pedigree charts are switched.

The Switch Spouses button seems to have disappeared from Family Tree.

Click the edit pencil beside GTZ8-M31‘s name as a child. The option to Switch Parents Position will show on the popup box.
