To whom it may concern:

The Brazilian digital folder number:

004090100_001_M9ZH-FZJ

is indexed as Caxias, Maranhão (state), but it is in reality Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul (state). I do not know how to fix it (these are two completely different regions). The Collection Information is from the:

Brasil, Maranhão, Registro Civil, 1827-2021

I tried contacting Family Search offices but found no link or way. Thanks for your help, folks!

It's probably another instance of the faulty placename standardization algorithm doing its thing rather than an indexing error.

There was, until recently, a mechanism in place to report such problems. We've recently been told that the team making the corrections does not need further reports as they have sufficient information to make the corrections. I have not seen any improvement, however.
