im trying to find information about my great great grandfather William Kinnon scarboroough,
I know he was born in georgia,USA 24 March 1818, married 1840 to Mary Ann Mauldin who was born in North carolina 1820. they were in Louisiana by 1847. I have info about generations after them, but can't find anything about their parents. how do i search census records? i'm hoping to find a name, i dont know where in Georgia he was born though.

sorry the names didn't attach. william Kinnon Scarborough dob 24 march 1818 in Georgia, married Mary Ann Mauldin 1840 (her dob 12 december 1820 in north carolina). they married in Georgia in 1840 and were living in north louisiana by 1847.

I suggest you join and post in the Southern States Research group where we have fellow searchers experienced in the area.
Georgia did not keep vital records until the 20th century. You will probably need to find Bible or probate records to determine a more precise location.
