How to index a 2 page spreadsheet Naturalization register.
I am indexing a Naturalization Register in the US, Pennsylvania, Cambria County—Naturalization Records, 1835–1991 [MQKZ-TV8]. My batch is a 2 page/image spreadsheet that reads across both images. The names, ages, birthplaces are on the first image and the file dates are on the second image.
Do I mark the second image "yes" to be indexed? Should I index dates from the second image with the entries of the first image? How do I go about indexing that second image?
Thank you.

For right now, follow the How To Index a Naturalization Register Example in the Project Instructions and mark Image 2 as No, No Extractable Data. I had the same issue a few days ago and tagged a mod, but I have not received a reply. Maybe if enough "wrong" batches are submitted, the PI will change. There is another issue with the Seaman's project and birthdates, but without complaints/wrong batches the PI won't change.

I think erutherford's response might be misplaced? This batch/project has nothing to do with seamen, and it seems pretty clear to me that you should mark image 1 as indexable, image 2 as not, and then use both images to complete the indexing: name, age, and birthplace from image 1, "recorded date" from image 2 (using the most recent of the ones listed, per the field help: "If the document includes more than 1 date, type the most recent date that relates to the naturalization process").

Read the reply again. I answered it, regarding the project they were asking about. I brought up the Seaman's issue because there is an issue regarding the birthdates in that project, which might mean someone is asleep at the switch. Remember, reading is your friend 😂

I have a similar problem — new york naturalization records contain two pages however the second page contains no indexable date, just signatures. I'm asked NOT to label the record as nonextractable, and essentially have to accept that both pages will be indexed. After page one is complete, I recorded control-B in each field so as not to get errors before submitting the date. Then, upon SUBMIT, ALL DATA FROM THE FIRST PAGE IS REMOVED leaving a <blank>. I went through and corrected all errors and submitted three batches that appeared to have no data on the first page. Finally, am giving up until this issue is resolved. Thanks for any help

You will delete the blank, unused entries. To do that, click on the trash can icon on your toolbar, select "All blank entries" and click Delete. You will be left with the entries you indexed and will be ready to submit the batch.
"Just signatures" is most likely the Oath of Allegiance, which is indexed. You will follow the instructions on the Oath by clicking on How To Index an Oath of Allegiance located in Project Instructions/What to Index.0
