Original of an early Virginian baptism index
familysearch shows a baptism in May 1777 index record for a child Frances Alcock of Patty Wood and John Alcock 1777. It is from this database
"Virginia Births and Christenings, 1584-1917", database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VRRH-9YF : 28 January 2020), Frances Alcock, 1777.
I am interested to know if there is an image of the original of this record, and if so how I could access the original record. The church is St James Northam Goochland
Thank you

Yes, but it is an image of a typed up index. You can find images that exist by searching images, by the way.

The computer printout at https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CS4R-5S22-X is derivative. There is an earlier (published 1928 ) book on DGS 7412573 showing the baptism on Page 150: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-89CL-Y3YS
And, the University of Virginia Library holds the original register: https://search.lib.virginia.edu/sources/uva_library/items/u2390566Edit to add: the UVA Library offers a copy service. There may be a fee to send a copy.

Thank you both very much for the prompt and helpful replies. The index images are useful since they are arranged by family name and it would appear that John Alcock the father is also John Alcox with 2 subsequent children to the Frances i was looking for. This in itself was valuable to consider, and I will also possibly check with the U of V library.
Kind regards
