Sources Tagging - Marriage and Parent Child Relationship
I like the idea of being able to add a source to prove a parent child relationship, but I'm very concerned that nobody will ever see it. Similar to marriage sources, if we attach a source to a parent child relationship, it will not show in the sources tab on the person page!
Why not add tagging capability for Marriage and Parent Child Relationships in the sources tab? Then automatically add that source to the event so that it shows when the pencil icon is clicked on? This would reduce the work in adding sources to marriages and parent-child relationships and be more apparent to users when they review sources.
It's interesting that we can add a custom fact, like residence, and add a source from the sources area but we can't do this for either marriage or parent-child relationship sources. This makes no sense to me.
Further, I was discussing this feature with a number of people at the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake, and nobody was even aware that you could attach a source to the parent-child relationship by clicking on the pencil icon of the child. How long has this feature been available? How has it been communicated?

The ability to attach sources to parent-child relationships is certainly not understood by everyone, but I guarantee that there are plenty of people at the FamilySearch Library who do understand this.
This feature has been available for as long as Family Tree has been available, which became active over 10 years ago.
This feature is communicated and documented like any other feature, such as in the Help Center. See, for example, the help article How do I attach a source to a parent-child relationship?

I agree that conclusion tagging is a better model. Now that it is available for all conclusion types, I hope it can be used to simplify relationship sourcing. That being said, there is probably a huge, complicated data migration that would need to happen. This kind of thing comes with its own problems. So I expect slow movement even if it is decided to be done.
