Unknown location in Czechoslovakia 1944

Hello

My apologies if I've posted in the wrong group

I have an old family photo of a person and it is captioned "Ruttenplan, Czechoslovakia 1944". I've been unable to find that location despite my best efforts. I did find it listed as the birthplace of several people included in a list of Dachau survivors. I've searched several German-Czech cross reference lists unsuccessfully. I'm wondering if anyone reading this has any knowledge of it or suggestions where to look.

Thankyou

John

It appears that Ruttenplan in former Bohemia (German "Böhmen") is now Chodová Planá in Czechia. If you do a Google search for Chodová Planá "Ruttenplan" you'll see results that indicate (mostly in German) that the German place name Ruttenplan is equivalent to Chodová Planá in Czech.

I also found several German references to Ruttenplan being in Kreis Pilsen or Pilsner Kreis (Kreis is German for county or region), which is the modern-day Czechia region Plzeň. Here's a Google Maps link to Chodová Planá.

Thank you Alan, you've saved what remains of my hair. As I mentioned, I tried every resource I could think of without result. I began to think it wasn't real. Perhaps if I'd thought to try a few letter combinations I may (??) have found it - I see the Wikipedia entry has it with a "K".

    Regards
    John
