Where can you find the State of Mexico (Estado de México) in the search tool?

I have not done any research in Mexico and very few in foreign countries. In your case, I went to the Search>Wiki and put in Mexico. I used the Guided Search and found the State of Mexico for Birth, Marriage and Death Here.
Personally, when I know I want to go back to an area to do more research, I bookmark the page.
As I expand my research outside of the US, the updates make it easier for me to find the locations I need using the Guided Research because I can visually see the areas around close by.

Unfortunately, that link from the Guided Research takes the user to the general México page, for the entire country, not records specific to the State of México.
I agree with @Mike Brady - the changes did not improve our options for research in many locations.
Mike, you might want to post in the Latin American and Caribbean Research group. Some of the more experienced researchers for the area may have developed a workaround.Best of luck!

When I clicked on the link I provided, it took me straight to the State of Mexico: State of Mexico, Mexico Guided Research. I also cleared my cache/cookies just in case and it still took me to the same place.
I don't disagree with you or @Mike Brady about the changes. I just try to make it as easy for myself as I can.

If I could post screenshots, I would, to make it very clear that link does not take the searcher to records for the state of México.
If you click on any of the 3 links on that page entitled State of México, they all go to the same place - the search page for the country of México.

You are correct Aine, I didn't go far enough.
I did try again just using the map for North America (not using the guided research). When the list populated, I chose Mexico then Mexico (state). This brought up: State of Mexico, Mexico Genealogy.
I scrolled down to:
- 1861-1941 Mexico, México, Civil Registration, 1861-1941 at FamilySearch and that took me to here:
- Mexico, México, Civil Registration, 1861-1941
- Births, marriages, deaths, indexes and other records created by civil registration offices in the state of México, Mexico search page.
Is that taking you to the right place to search for State of Mexico records?

Yes, but we should be able to search, in general, for records in the State of México, not just in one record set. That's akin to searching just Utah birth records instead of searching for Utah records in general.

I can't add a screen capture , but the same results using Edge or Chrome browsers, when using the "Search Historical Records by Place" the Maps with links, after selecting Mexico , the Pop Up with the states on the right hand side shows up. The very first entry on the top "Mexico" links to the whole country records not the state records, and the list shows all states in alphabetical order except Estado de Mexico (Edomex) or State of Mexico nor "Mexico (State)" in the English menu option I am using, I think this is some error and should be corrected.
Also if you try to use the "Search Historical Records" and select more options to see the "Country or Location & State or Province" options are you input "Mexico" in country when you try to type the state the pre-defined options do not show any variation for the "State of Mexico ie Estado de Mexico"

What Gastélum states does seem to be the case, insofar as a differentiation appears to not be made between Estado de México (Mexico State) and Distrito Federal/Ciudad de México (the Mexico City metropolitan district), the aforesaid appear to be, governmentally speaking, two separate and distinct political entities, as different, in constitutional demarcation, as Veracruz is to Oaxaca.

This has already been reported to engineers.
