The "Help Others" link is still available, but it's not on every page of FamilySearch. It's available on any of the Tree views, or the person pages, but not anywhere else. So if you look at the main menu of the FamilySearch website. the first three options on the Family Tree menu will all have "Help Others" available. But it will not be present on the other options under Family Tree, nor on any of the other main menu items such as Search, Memories, Get Involved, etc.

Is it possible that you were in one of those other areas?

Another issue that people sometimes run into is they inadvertently sign in to the site with a different username, and that username is not connected to their Church membership. Only Church members have the ability to help others using this feature. That's less likely to be the problem, but I thought I should mention it.
