I have some question on my race heritage that I would like to search, but didn't know if there was a way to do it by category.

    The short answer is no.

Only some records have a race indicated, and that detail is not always correct. Only some of those have race indexed. Only some of those have been added to profiles.

Then there is the fact that the FamilySearch Family Tree is a single collaborative tree that we all contribute to. And, the Tree "Find" option has limited capability.

While you cannot include this field on the initial search, you can filter by it after you get the search results. It is similar to the instructions here but in a different part of the site: https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/filter-the-search-results-in-historical-records

@ketherin - c Randall asked about searching the tree while those instructions are for filtering a record search.
