How do I turn off 'Hints'? They've become annoying and useless

On your home page, you can close the box, and you won't see them there. Just click on the down arrow at the right to close the box.
On the individual profile pages, just don't click on the research helps. There is no rule saying we have to look at them, resolve them, attach them, or do anything else with them.
Meanwhile, there are multiple threads from users who have recently lost access to hints and are distressed by the loss.
