Hello. Can anybody help me find out when my great grandfather was baptized?
I know the one-year time-frame and the church where this should have been recorded. I visited a FamilySearch center but they told me the record can only be seen in Utah. Here's the catalog where it should appear: https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/1783959?availability=Family%20History%20Library Should be in vol 6. Keep in mind the records will be in Spanish as this is a town in Colombia, South America. My great-grandfather was born between Aug 25, 1876 and Aug 24, 1877 according to his age at marriage (55 on Aug 25, 1931). His name was Bartolome Sardi Sarria. The church in Jamundi, Colombia has been looking for the past 2 months and after the insistence of several family members, they still can't find it. We're hoping that if we know the exact date, they'll be able to find it.
Of course, ideally, I'd like to see the image but if that's not allowed, the date would be immensely helpful.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Bartolome's profile L1Z5-HCS lists his birth year as 1866 - based on his age of 84 at death in 1950.

Thanks, but we believe the age estimated at death is wrong. According to his marriage records he should've been born around 1876-1877. Also, his siblings were all born between 1875-1885.

The image is not indexed and can only be viewed in FamilySearch's central library. My ancestor, Bartolome Sardi Sarria, was baptized in Jamundi, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, South America. He was born between Aug 25, 1876 and Aug 24, 1877 according to his age at marriage (55 on Aug 25, 1931). The age estimated at death is wrong. His parents were Blas Sardi and Emperatriz Sarria.
Thanks for your help.

The free look-up service in Salt Lake has been discontinued. You may be able to find a volunteer or a paid service by checking Cyndi's List.
Best of luck with the search.

Hi Aine. What do you mean exactly with "The free look-up service in Salt Lake has been discontinued." If I go to Utah for example, and I'm not a LDS member, I can't look up anything anymore? Thanks!

FamilySearch offered a remote, free, look-up service for several years, but it ended last year.
You'll need to find someone to do the look-up for you if you can't visit Salt Lake. That's why I gave you a link to Cyndi's List. Most of the participants in this Community are not in Salt Lake. We're other users of the website.
