Marriage
I have searched high and low for my grandparents marriage record. I have a date - January 2, 1928. I also have a newspaper article that says they were married in Los Angeles County, California. I have sent to LA county but there are no records there. I don't know where to go from here. My father said it would not surprise him if they were never married. They lived in several places including California, Nevada and Utah but I've been unsuccessful in all of them. Any suggestions on where I should look next? Appreciate your help.

It is extremely difficult to make any suggestions without knowing the names of the parties. If your grandparents are deceased, please share their names and any other information that may be useful. If you have their dates of birth - even approximate - that would be useful, as well.

The article in the Parowan newspaper says they were married in Los Angeles. The date is Jan 2, 1928 according to family.

@cdivine Nevada didn't require any wait to be married so many people who lived in California went across the border to Nevada to be married immediately. You might try looking for their marriage in Nevada. Las Vegas happens to be in the middle between Parowan and Los Angeles, so it might be a good place to look. I don't know of a good state-wide index for Nevada, though. Usually, I have found marriages by looking at each county's index of marriages. Las Vegas is in Clark county, but you might search in other counties as well.

Thank you! I have looked in Nevada because they lived there for many years. I appreciate your suggestion.

@cdivine You mentioned that you have a newspaper article from Parowan referencing their marriage have you found one for Los Angeles area? Usually, they mention all the licenses that have been taken out in the past week or so.
