Where do I find the civil registration and population records for Brussels-City?

Somehow I can't find the records for Belgium, Brussels, Brussels or Belgium, Brabant, Brussels (until 1977).

I keep finding all the sub-entities like Sint-Gillis or Ixelles, but not the city center...

Thanks to help me,

Cecile

The new Catalog search keeps losing cities. (Vienna can still only be found using workarounds.)

It looks like for Brussels, they've simply lost a jurisdiction level: I think "Belgium, Brussels" brings up everything relevant (https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/results?count=20&placeId=1972260&query=%2Bplace%3A%22Belgium%2C%20Brussels%22&subjectsOpen=359961-50) -- although granted, I have no idea what all should be there, so I don't know if anything's missing.

For the civil registrations, you can try starting from the collection page (https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1482191).

Thank you! I have only my mobile phone for the rest of today, will check later.

In the past (before the catalog started losing places), searching from the highest level (Belgium, Brussels), did not reveal everything that should be found. I recall showing someone how searching on "United States, North Carolina" only revealed records filed/categorized at the state level, but that records for various counties within the state were not shown.

All that to say - there may be records for the individual lower-level jurisdictions within Brussels that don't show up with that filter.

    Good luck!

Both links are really very useful, thanks a lot for that. So I can find all civil registrations easily now.

However I still see no population lists, any idea for that?

@CecileSarlet The FamilySearch Wiki is a good place to check for what types of records exist and if/where they may be available. https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Belgium_Population_Records

Records created less than 120 years ago cannot be consulted.

I've been unable to get the Catalog to cough up any population registers for the city of Brussels.

Perhaps they're not included in the material scanned by FamilySearch?

Still strange, I thought I looked into Brussels population files earlier. Moest "disappeared" images have come back into the catalog, but Brussels seems a mystery.
