So I have been researching my family for the last five to six years now. My 2nd great-grandfather,John Sinclair born about 1835 , marriage to Sarah Jane Bertram in 1869. She came from Canada he came from Scotland with his father in the mid 1840s. I have been unable to find any information on these two and I'm curious if anyone else out here has any more information or could help put some pieces together regarding these two.

They were living in Shiawassee County Michigan in the 1870s but it's really hard to find any other information to collaborate. Does anyone else have the same problem?

Good morning. Some families or individuals can be harder to trace than others. You may want to post in the Mid-West Research Group for more help.

Best of luck with the search.

This would appear to be the family: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/9VHD-Z4L

Unfortunately, John Sinclair's death certificate does not list the names of his parents. https://michiganology.org/uncategorized/IO_fd319f6f-4959-4fd5-848c-daa50b9b6a4d It does have an exact date of birth - 20 January 1835. If that is accurate, or even close, it could be useful in helping find his birth/baptism record in Scotland.

I have posted all over the place,we have a few different family members looking without any luck. I have a 1922 death in Owosso Michigan for John but that is about the only information I can find. But thank you for your help I'm hoping someone can find anything about these two so I can continue my search.

So a bunch of us have been searching for our ancestors. John Sinclair born about 1835 in Scotland married at Sarah Jane Bertram in 1868 in Michigan. She was born about 1849 in Canada. John immigrated about 1846 or 47 from Scotland with his father John Sinclair. What I'm curious is if anyone has any idea how I can find more information like the parents of John and Sarah all I can really find are census records and death in Shiawassee County Michigan. If there's anyone out there that has anything that could help please contact me.
