Experiencing a Bug? Person Page does not load
Is anyone else having trouble getting to a person's detail page? For example, if I'm in Changes to People You Follow and I click on a person, it takes me to a blank page. When I sign in and choose Family Tree and then select Persons, a blank page comes up. The same if I select Recents and choose a name from that last.
My computer software is up to date. I know if I contact FS they will say to delete cookies, which is what they generally say, and it's never helped a situation I contacted them about. Any other ideas? Thanks!

It was doing that to me yesterday. (I haven't done anything yet today. Too busy feeding people.) It was "third time's the charm": if I reloaded the blank page three times, it'd finally deign to load.

I haven't had that problem today or yesterday, and I've been in and out of the tree and records all day both days. Using both Chrome and Firefox, Windows 10, all fully up-to-date.

YES! I have been having massive problems!
It seems like the more pages you visit, the longer it takes for a refresh to load the page. Like some kind of usage limitation to hinder bots or something. I can't get anything done, and I am so aggravated!

I wonder if you are trying to use the New Image Viewer? There are known issues with that feature. I avoid it at all costs by editing the URL to force the record to show in the old viewer.
A sample record - in the New Viewer the URL is https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G9HN-MWFG?view=index&action=view That can take ages to open.
If I edit the URL to use the old viewer, by deleting everything starting with the ?, to https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G9HN-MWFG then the record appears immediately in the old viewer.

@Áine Ní Donnghaile, no, it wasn't the viewer. It was profile detail pages that were doing it to me. They're not doing it now, knock on wood.

Yes, this is happening to me regularly. For instance, after a merge, person page will not come up it will just be blank. This has been happening for at least the past week, today it is much worse. For example today, I did a find in Family Tree, clicked on the desired name to go to person page, and blank. Usually if I keep clicking the refresh button over and over it will finally come up. But this morning, no such luck. I updated chrome to the latest version, no difference. Reset cookies, no difference. but I went in through my daughters account on Firefox, and the person page for the same search came right up. So maybe the temporary fix is don't use chrome?
Editing: After using Firefox, daughter's account, the same issue is happening. It does make me wonder if there is some sort of usage limitation.

Is anyone having the person page missing info in Safari browser? It has been off this afternoon and tonight. I was wanting to know if this was site wide or possibly just my account. From Chrome it is fine.

I rebooted my computer which fixed the problem for a little while, but now person page is coming up blank, even when using Puzzilla.
Has this thread been noticed by anyone in tech?

Funny -- someone else was having the problem in Chrome and temporarily fixed it by switching to Firefox.
Clearly, it's not actually a browser-dependent problem. However, I'm not sure that the throttle theory from that other thread is any closer to the truth, because when it was doing it to me, it was the first thing I'd done on FS that day (besides this forum).

No, it’s not the image viewer. Although I have had problems with that also (disappearing indexes). It’s the people pages not loading. Only the header and footer loads.
It was mostly working well yesterday, with only an occasional problem. But it gives a blank page every single time after a merge.

I saw it a bit on Saturday, but with the long weekend, I haven't had much time to test this. I will see why I can find out.

The person page is back today! Thanks for the info. There have been some account specific issues on my account recently. I did not want to just wait if it was going to take familysearch intervention to fix. It is hard to do much without the person page!

Engineers are aware and working on this. We need more info from you. Have you tried clearing cookies and the other basic troubleshooting? If you are still seeing blank Person Pages, what browser is this happening in? Have you tried another browser? Thanks

Usually clearing my cache and deleting cookies helps but an hour ago I kept getting a message something like "can't connect to server, try again later" so I deleted and cleared everything but the issue was still happening on both chrome and Samsung browser.
I had come here to comment, but went back to check the exact message and thankfully now it's working. I just thought it might be a site issue since the msg said it was server related and both browsers (one of which I had just cleared yesterday) were having the same issue.
So I guess this isn't really a complaint or an ongoing problem. Anyways thanks for providing this service and responding to people who have trouble using it. 😊

I have this issue on Chrome. I just tried Safari and it wasn't a problem there. I prefer using Chrome, though.

Working again now with no problems. I think it must have been linked to the implementation of the new source linker. (Which, I must say, I don't really like. Looks like a cartoon. But I hope that's just because I'm old and don't like change. Hope I'll get used to it.)
