    My mothers side of the family seems to have errors in it. My G grandfather is enter incorrectly because as you know many names are the same from generation to generation. Many Tom Silks in same state & age time etc. I not sure how to go in an clean up errors in my GG Tom Silk. He was married to a woman my G gandmother Ann Mangan. There is a diffrent woman entered in Tom Silks tree. I do not know how to go in and clean it up which I will do but I want to do it without creating other problems. I know I need resources to prove proper ansestor tree. Which I can pull from my files in my computer. I just need a page in your community that can guide me with proper ways to delete and inter proper names. Thank you for your time.

    @pdxmike

    In a collaborative, communal Tree like the one on FamilySearch, the "proper way to delete" names is "not". If you're completely certain that you have the correct Tom Silk, but he has the wrong wife, then you need to detach the incorrect profile and add or attach the correct one. But, as you say, there were many people by the same name, so cleaning up your family may involve cleaning up some unrelated families, too.

    Here are a couple of Help Center articles on editing a profile's relationships: https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/a-person-in-family-tree-has-the-wrong-spouse and https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-correct-parent-child-relationships-in-family-tree.

    If you go to "A Person in Family Tree has the wrong spouse" it will give you all the details.
