How do I attach an image to a source?
I found a source record in the California Marriage Index 1960-1985 that I have attached to a person. The same source document on Ancestry.com has an image of the index. So I downloaded the image, and now I would like to upload it and attach the image of the record to the FamilySearch source record. How do I do that?

Firstly, DO NOT try to upload an "Image" in "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch" that you downloaded from "Ancestry_com".
.
Uploading an "Image" in "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch" that you downloaded from "Ancestry_com" maybe contrary to "Copyright", etc.
.
Secondly, just create your own 'User-Defined' "Source" with the URL being that of the "Image" in "Ancestry_com"; and, do not forget to site "Ancestry_com" as where the "Image" is located.
.
Here are a couple of "Knowledge Article" in "FamilySearch" on the matter:
.
How do I create my own sources in Tree?
.
How do I add an outside source to Family Tree?
.
I hope this helps.

I found the correct procedure on this page:
https://www.familysearch.org/blog/en/add-record-find-ancestrycom-ancestors-sources-family-tree/
quoting from the page:
Another way to add a record that you find on Ancestry.com to your ancestor’s sources in Family Tree is to first save the record to your computer and then upload the record in Family Tree. When you find a record on Ancestry.com that you want to save to your tree, follow these steps:
In Ancestry.com:
- To open the image, click on the thumbnail image of the record you want to save
- In the upper-right hand corner of the image page, click on the Save button
- In the resulting drop-down box, select Save to my computer
- Using the Save to my computer dialogue box, select the folder or location on your computer to save the file. Type a name for the file — perhaps your ancestors name and the type of record. For example, you could save the record as “Jane Doe birth record”
Move to FamilySearch Family Tree:
- Find the ancestor for whom you want to add the new record / source
- In the Person view of your ancestor, select Sources from the available links on the Details tab (below the banner with your ancestor’s name, dates, etc.)
- Click Create a Source
- In the required Source Title box, type a short description of your new source
- Select Add a memory
- Click Add file then navigate to the folder or location on your computer where you saved the record
- Select the file (previously saved in the example as “Jane Doe birth record”
- Complete the rest of the form adding detailed dates and other information from the record
- Select Save to complete the task

'Yes' that Article in the "FamilySearch" 'Blog' is helpful.
.
But ...
That said ...
.
That particular part/section of the Article that you have quoted, is quite controversial.
.
I would suggest that if the MEMORY "Source" that you are creating is NOT completed/handled correctly; then, doing so would; as, I previously suggested, maybe contrary to "Copyright", etc
.
I am not saying that it is wrong, just that you need to be cautious.
.
For example:
.
Is the "Image" subject to "Copyright"?
.
Do you, need; and/or, have you obtained the "Copyright" Holders PERMISSION to UPLOAD the "Image" elsewhere?
.
These are all things that need to be considered.
