Ursenbach BE - 1600's - Soom - sources on emigration
As I work back in time I have traced one line of my German ancestry from Baden to the Bas-Rhin area and now it appears that before living in Bas-Rhin this family may have emigrated from Ursenbach, Bern Canton, Switzerland in the second half of the 1600s.
It appears that sometime after the 1653 Swiss peasant uprising several members of the Soom/Sohm family in Ursenbach moved to various villages in Bas-Rhin including Brumath, Kurtzenhaus, Kuhlendorff and maybe others.
I have found the Ursenbach church records online State Archives of Bern Canton which has been very helpful.

So my questions are:
1) Are there any emigration records from Ursenbach/Bern Canton for the 1650-1675 time period that might be accessible? I didn't see any in the online Bern Canton archives but might have missed them because my German language skills are very limited.
2) Are there any good resources/books that detail the emigration of families from Ursenbach or Bern Canton to the Bas-Rhin after the Peasant uprising?
3) Are there any good resources/books that detail the impact of the Peasant uprising on families in Ursenbach? I wonder if some members of the Soom family were involved and may have moved afterwards to avoid repercussions.

The original topic title "Emigration from Bern Canton 1600's" has been adapted to summarize the discussion topic more specifically - see the suggestion on https://community.familysearch.org/de/discussion/129680/what-title-would-be-best-for-postings.

For emigration from canton Bern there is a very useful compilation Rodel weggezogener Mannrechten 1694-1754 … unfortunately too late for your question … and doesn't mention Soom. I am not aware of another relevant source - but then, Bern is not my region of main interest. Unless someone else comes up here with further suggestions, I recommend to contact
1) Historischer Verein des Kantons Bern;
2) Genealogisch-Heraldische Gesellschaft Bern.
Additionally you could post your question on https://www.geneal-forum.com/ where you would find a much larger audience of Swiss resident researchers than here. Geneal-Forum covers the entire German/French speaking regions of Europe - plus emigration from there. Registration is free and without any obligation; English is fine.
