If a person has a living spouse, you will index both the given and surname of the spouse.

    Ex: James Doe (Mary).

You will index Mary Doe in the spouse section. This differs from what we do--when a spouse is listed without a surname, we only index the given name.

For deceased spouses, we do not index them.

Ex: Mary Doe (wid James). This also differs from when we would index the deceased spouse. In these instances, with the new instruction, the spouses information will be left blank.

Yes, you will index A G Buchanan. We index every unique name, however we do not index names of companies that say something like "Omaha City Roses."

Thank you. Now I'm trying to understand new guidelines for city directories in What to Remember bullet points 12 and 14. This was just brought to my attention before I started a new batch.
