Add people to Family Group
How do I add family names (my children) to my family group so I can share my reservations with them?

The "Email" feature makes the assumption that you use Outlook on your device. You don't have to use this option.
Instead choose the option "Copy Link". Then using your preferred email system, send emails to those you want to invite or share the link with them however you want (email, text, messenger, etc). Once they click the link to join, you will be able to approve them.
To approve them, you open the group in FamilySearch and as the admin of the group you'll see those who are waiting to join. You click "Approve" and they are in the group.

I found the instructions, but found them quite unfriendly. I followed the link and it wanted to delete all my gMail addresses and convert to another system. I am not going there. Still looking.
I can go to gMail and invite my family members, but how does that get them into my family group?
