How can this be fixed?
the records states father born in 1919, mother in 1912 and the son in 1929. The father’s age shows to be 25 years old and the mother 32 years old. The record states it wasn’t recorded until 1944.
The son’s date of birth is correct. The parents ages are reversed and their birth year is completely wrong. The father would have been 10 years old and the mother 17 years old.
1896 is the year the father was born, making him about 32.
1904 is the year the mother was born, making her about 25.

I have never used this forum.
any help would be appreciated.
thank you

Unfortunately, the formula for delayed Cook birth registrations uses the year of registration, minus the age of the parent, to compute the year of birth of the parents. And, since the images are not online, we cannot edit.
The calculation should be based on the year of birth of the child instead of delayed registration. I have retrieved images of many of these while at an Affiliate Library.

Rescued URL for the index detail page: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q23M-MDP7
As Áine says, the algorithm that calculates those "Birth Year (Estimated)" fields uses the "Event Date", not the "Birth Date". Unfortunately, the images aren't available, so the index isn't correctable. However, the good news is, you can simply ignore the index detail page now: the purpose of the index is to help you find the record, and you've done that.
On the profiles of the people involved, you can of course make sure the data is entered correctly, and you can note the corrections to the index in the Notes/Description field of the attached source.

And you can visit your local affiliate library to retrieve a copy of the record which will show the correct details.

Thanks everyone for the reply.
i also ran across another problem.
an obituary record connected 3 deceased people and their families. Is this to be treated the same way?
usually I will see a note where it was indexed by a computer and there would be an option to report any errors. This one didn’t have that option .
someone had made a new connection, the husband of one deceased woman was listed as husband to both deceased women. So they added him as a husband to the other woman. Really confused me. Took me a while to figure out how she had an extra husband. When she only ever had one.
thanks for helping me.

If you can share the URL of the obituary or the PID of one of the deceased persons named in it, we can probably give a better answer.

@VandJ Thanks. First - the URL rescued from the mangler, for the benefit of anyone who wants to view it: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QKLC-KT64 When you put a URL on a line by itself, the Community software corrupts it.
I see the option to report an error. Do you not have that option?
The problem is that two obituaries have been conflated, making it appear that the two obits are for one person.
