Why did this person get marked as confidential? Specifically

I have already read the articles about administrators setting a person as confidential. This person is not confidential to me and is not an ancestor of mine. I was assisting a patron. I would like to have this person removed from my private people listing.

Thank you.

Hi Leslie - Since you entered this person and nobody else has access to the record, you should be able to delete this record. To do so, go to the person page, details tabs. tools box, delete person. Here is a link to more detailed information.

    Hi Leslie

You are the only one that can see this record since it is confidential. The patron that you were assisting can't see this record. If that patron needs a record for this person, they should create it on in their account. Or perhaps they already have a record for this person which would be a duplicate to the record you have. There are many reasons why records get marked as confidential. In this case, we would still recommend you delete the record you have since the person is not part of your family. Deleting it will not affect what others see. If you still have contact with the person you were helping, you may check with them and make sure they have the record they need which depending on the information on the record, may also be marked as confidential but at least it will be on their account and part of their family.

Your thoughts are compelling. I deleted the person which option was available.

Thank you for your patience in helping me achieve my goal of removing this person from my private people listing.

If a person was born in a place that is considered confidential the person will be marked as confidential.

Only the person that entered that person can see change or delete that person. So it does not matter to any one else if that person is marked confidential.

I don't want to delete the person, I just don't want the person marked as confidential.
