update listed on Important Details Page when first opening a batch
Please consider adding more that just "there is an update" or "please look at update as of xx/xx/xxxx"
This update is probably an improvement for indexers to avoid errors.
When I have been working on a particular type of batch for months or are brand new to this batch, and no direction is given to what the particular update is about, I probably am going to miss it or can't find it. If we just have to dig around to find the update with out direction, can it at least be underlined to so it is obvious. Even if this is the first time to seen this type of batch, an emphasis on any update would still be good as something to really watch out for.
Thanks

Updates will tell you where you can find the update. Most of the time, updated instruction is found under Project Instructions. I pulled up a Virginia Birth Records batch. The new Instructions state:
How to Index a Birth Register is found under Project Instructions/What To Index.
The new instruction under Project Instructions/What To Remember about This project
- On typed registers, an asterisk (*) indicates that the child is colored. In this case, index Colored in the Color or Race field. However, this does not indicate if the name of the father recorded in the document is actually the owner's name. The "Name of Father" column on typed registers should be indexed in the father's name fields unless clearly indicated that it is the owner's name.
The new instruction about the race field is located in the Color or Race field.
Clicking on the purple question mark will bring up the instructions for the Color or Race field.
Familiarizing yourself with both the Project Instructions and Field Help will help you to find new updates to projects.
