When a persona is created in FamilySearch tree, erroneously, what can we do with him/her?

The delete options can not be used and there is not someone we can merge the person into either. It is now floating around in the tree ( more than one in this project, I am afraid.

Any options?

    I would think that most of the time, when a person has been erroneously created, it is because they were, in fact a real person, but are attached to the wrong spouse, parents or children. In those cases I would recommend simply disconnecting them from the incorrect family group and moving on. You shouldn't worry about it floating around as I would hope someone would begin the process of creating a record for that person in the correct family, and then be alerted that he/she already exists and can be attached instead of created.

    In the case where truly erroneous records have been created, for example should you come across Mickey Mouse, I'm not sure what the correct procedure is. I've seen people post the PIDs here in this forum for admins to be alerted. Is that your case? If so, perhaps someone can let us know the correct procedure.

    @Carole McIntyre

    Perhaps you could clarify what you mean by "more than one in this project". By "project" do you mean that this appears to be part of an officially approved FamilySearch exercise, or are you referring to the work of one individual who appears to be creating fictitious individuals - or, perhaps, merely attaching real persons to the wrong families?

    Gail has provided the correct, general advice here, but providing more detail of your example(s) would have been more helpful in identifying your specific problem.
