Yesterday I was helping answer FamilySearch support calls. After we had completed the help for the original problem, the caller mentioned that when she recently was trying to help her sister set up a free (for LDS Members) ancestry.com account. They had problems with the program not letting them create an account. When they called ancestry.com support they were told that ancestry.com is no longer available free to LDS members.

Is this correct? Is ancestry.com no longer available for free to LDS members?

@rtaylor69 Yes. And here is a how-to article that should help.

How do I set up my Ancestry account?

    Good luck :)

@rtaylor69 Ancestry Customer Service is not well-versed in special products, such as the LDS member access. Better help is available from FamilySearch. Good luck!

Yes, please call FamilySearch. We have a special Ancestry team that helps with that.
