Thank you for this article recognizing Labor Day. I worked for 32 years as a firefighter and union member. IAFF Local 975 in Austin, Texas. I am an active Church member. Labor is how we support our families. This article shows that Labor is a non partisan issue that serves to better the lives of our families across the country. I really like the picture at the top of the article showing the IWW banner from Oakland in 1939. The International Workers of the World is a union that organizes labor regardless of trade or profession. For me, Labor day is the second most patriotic day after the 4th of July. Many Americans have died in workplace accidents or from diseases caused from working conditions and Labor Day remembers them and encourages us to work to better our workplace safety and health. Thanks to the Church for this article.
