Am I duplicating something that has already been done.

I have found the records I'm indexing on Ancestry and their more readable then the ones I've been given to index. Are these records already indexed?

Ancestry and Family Search are two wholly different entities and are not related to one another. Records may be indexed on one site, but may not be indexed on the other.

Having different indexes for the same collection is often helpful. Several times I have been able to find a record by checking a different index.
