How do I see the large tree?
I haven't looked at the tree in a while and it seems to have a different format. I found a person by their ID, but it shows only immediate family. How do I see where it connects to the world wide tree? My own tree shows just 3 generations. How do I see more without clicking 1 generation at a time? Thanks

It sounds like you're looking at a profile's Details page, which indeed shows only immediate family (parents, siblings, spouses, children) in the Family Members section. I very seldom find it necessary to look at more than that at a time, but you can see many more generations using one of the Tree (chart) views. To go to one of them, scroll up to the top of the Details page and click "View Tree". It'll default to whichever type of chart you used last, but you can change it by clicking the little down-arrow after the currently-selected type, at the top right of the chart view.
Once you've chosen a chart type, you can use the settings button to change things like the number of generations shown (for fan or descendancy views) or whether to show portraits. The button is supposed to look like a pair of sliders (like on an old high-end stereo system). Like all of the button/menus on the chart views, it comes in two versions: the old one on the fan and descendancy views (see above), and the new one on the pedigree views (landscape and portrait).

I'm sorry, but I'm still confused. At the top, I clicked on Family tree (next to search). I first tried landscape, but didn't get more of the tree. I used to be able to scroll back through many generations starting with myself and enlarge or reduce. I tried descendancy and it seems stuck there. I can't get back to landscape. I want to be able to see people who I haven't added to my chart to see what others have added and where they fit. I haven't seen any header that says Family Members or Details.

Sometimes the button may seem to stick and it may take a couple of tries, clicking it, to get it to change the type of layout
To see more generations, you have to click the little right arrow.

Hmm. Descendancy charts annoyingly put the settings button on the opposite side of the type button than the other charts, but it shouldn't be stuck there.
Is that anything like what you're seeing? If so, what happens when you click the little triangle on the Descendancy button at the top right?
You should be able to get to the landscape chart by clicking the top choice in that box.
The pedigree charts (landscape and portrait) are both in the process of being updated; my screenshot is of the new version, but I could switch back to the old version using the "Go Back" link at the top right.
But as I think I've said, I don't really use either version. Instead, I go to a profile's details page, which you can do by clicking the name and then choosing "Person" from the popup (old version) or "View Person" from the sidebar (new version). That's the view that has a Details tab with a Family Members section.
But back to the pedigree views, as you can see in the screenshots above (I hope), both versions have little circled arrow-thingies if a person has more generations available; you can click those to expand and see those parents or children. If you don't see those arrow-thingies, it means that those relationships do not currently exist in the tree. If they used to exist but are no longer showing up in the tree views, you'll need to go to the profile detail page to investigate what happened in the Change Log. You open that by clicking "Show All" at the bottom of the Latest Changes box, in the right-hand column. (It's right above the Tools box.)

Thanks for the help. Nothing happens when I click on the little arrow on the descendant tab. That's what I mean by stuck. If I try to go back to tree, it just comes back to the same place. There must be a way to start over. Once I can do that, I'll work on the rest. Thanks again for the help.

There was a recent thread from someone who was stuck not being able to view the pedigree. I know one of the engineers was helping him.

You may want to mention this in the group where engineers are gathering feedback for Tree views.
