Why can I no longer use my mouse to move images around the screen?
When viewing an image of a document, I used to be able to click on it, hold the mouse button down, and drag the image up and down, left & right, so that I could view all the areas of the page. But this no longer works.
I just noticed the same is true for the tree view. I clicked on an arrow to expand the tree out several more generations. Then I used to just hold my mouse down on the page & move the whole tree to the left so that I could view the generations I just opened. But this no longer works.
Is this a change with the new design? Or maybe an issue with certain browsers? It really makes it impossible to use both of these features.
Thanks.

Have you tried using a different browser or clearing your FS cache/cookies? Both features work fine for me in Chrome and Firefox, fully updated, Windows 10.

I'm using an OS and browser that Áine already tested, but I checked, too, because I have a laptop with a touchscreen, and sometimes websites are Smarter Than Me, disabling mouse input for pan and zoom. (At one point, FS's index-correction tool was guilty of this behavior, but thankfully, they fixed it.) I just checked, and for me, panning (the term for clicking-and-dragging to change what part of the image shows on your screen) works the same as always in index corrections (both the old and the new tools), the catalog's image viewer, both pedigree views, and the fan chart.
In addition to Äine's suggestions, I recommend checking your mouse: is it working correctly in other places? (Sometimes, they lose track of the fact that you're still holding down the button, and behave as if you've simply clicked once.)

Thanks for checking. I’m going to be at the library tomorrow. I’ll try it on their computer & see how I do.

Just an off-hand thought: Did you check to see if it has the scroll bar/slider at the side and bottom of the screen? Sometimes the document or application uses that method of maneuvering on the page.
