My uncle was in the Air force stationed at Ellsworth Air force base in south Dakota. He is still with us so I have some specific details but no luck finding him on the 1950 census. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Use the National Archives website find the correct Enumeration District for Ellsworth AFB. I've already entered South Dakota and Pennington for the state and county.

    https://1950census.archives.gov/search/?county=Pennington&page=1&state=SD

Try entering his name. If nothing comes up, it was either misspelled, or transcribed incorrectly. Search through the Enumeration DIstrict Descriptions for Ellsworth AFB, then click on the Population Schedules button.

If you find it, to locate it on FamilySearch, look for another name on the same page that is easy to read and search for that. If that doesn't work, try the page before or after.

    Good luck 😋
