I have reviewed all of the names of cities and towns in Austria (as listed in Wikipedia) that start with "S" or "I". I cannot find one close that is similar to what I read on this document. I am almost positive that it is NOT Shabatz as currently indexed. Are there any experts in Austrian research who might recognize what town this is meant to be?

Thank you for your help!

It looks to be Shahatz. The "h"s are similar to those in the emperor, Charles. You have to remember that the person filling out Naturalization forms would sometimes do it phonetically and that it's possible that the city existed then (1918), but does not now. When it doubt, you are able to use ? for on character and * for two or more characters.

I believe that it is Shahatz, Austria. (a misspelling of Schatz) I also think that the surname is Sukaly based on his signature at the bottom.
