Please allow us to fix the number of children per birth in indexed records

Some records show twins when there is one baby - or a single baby instead of twins or triplets.

I just removed a male child from parents on FS, the record is for twin girls, but it is only allowing me to attach it to one of the girls since it shows as a single male birth. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6FZZ-8LB3

This family also had triplets, they also show as a single birth.https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6FZ3-JZ25

On the other side of the problem; there are whole parishes who look like they mostly produced twins.

Because of the way the record is worded they look like twin entries.

If it was possible for regular users to fix this, we could help when we spot a problem.

Thank you for your help!

Once the new "edit everything" tool has its bugs hunted down and is expanded to more collections, you'll be able to add or remove entries as needed. In the meantime, you'll just have to console yourself that the index served its purpose, despite its flaws: you found the record(s).

If twins were misindexed as a single child, you can use your Source Box to attach the index entry to both of the actual children, or you can bypass the flawed index and attach the image directly as a source, using either your Source Box or the URL.

If a child with multiple given names was misindexed as a multiple birth, then you'll have to attach multiple sources to one profile.
