My Trees.com
Hello, May I ask why FamilySearch is accepting information and family trees from the My Trees website please? I feel its sad with this being added to the Genealogies section of FamilySearch.
I found it heart breaking that a person connected only by one marriage is spreading incorrect information about many of my family ancestors because nothing has been thoroughly sourced and other people are copying the information. I have spent years trying to do the corrections and now FamilySearch is accepting anyone's information from My Tree dot com. This is so sad. 😥
Regards.

Hello W D Samuelsen,
Thank you for your reply. That makes sense, the information on the gedcom file is wrong and they can't follow direction.
Regards.

The MyTrees.com collection is only offered as one of many sites to research and learn. It even has a warning note of "unknown data accuracy." It is not "accepted" or even connected to the FSFT.

Thank you for your reply.
I beg to differ but when I searched on FamilySearch in the Genealogies section a family tree with my family and inaccurate information was produced for me to look at. There was no warning signs at all I have attached a screen shot to prove what I am saying.

The trees in Genealogies are not part of the FamilySearch Family Tree. They are an independent resource: maybe useful, maybe not.
Each of us is responsible for validating the records/resources where we research. Did you look at the image I posted, showing the red warning label "Unknown Data Accuracy," for trees from MyTrees.com?

MyTrees is associated with Ancestry.
It's a gedcom and newbies kept uploading into the FSFT instead of "Genealogies", ignoring signs. Lately I am see less and less of this now.
