On the home page of FS my Hints and Temple Opportunities box is not showing up!
I serve at a large FS Center and a patron came in saying her blue source hints had disappeared from the home page, as well as from the Hints tab at the top of the home page. I had just acted on some hints in my account, attaching some sources this morning. Now, I see that my Hints box is also gone! But others here at the Center are able to see theirs. Does anyone know what is going on? Thanks, folks!

When you exhaust all the hints, the hint tab and box go away. They will come back when there are more hints for you to review.

Not so. I always have lots of temple opportunities show up there even if I’ve completed the source hints. Everything vanished for a while and then came back this afternoon with no source hints (accurate) but plenty of green and gold icons. My phone app was the same—everything disappeared completely from tasks and has not returned. My patron has had nothing return, and she had lots of source hints and temple opps. Something is up!

Of course, something is up! Development and improvement of FamilySearch is always going on.
When a well established feature such as the various tasks lists gets unstable it generally means one of several things:
- Your internet has gotten unstable and a small part of the tons of data each page takes got lost in transmission. This resolves when whichever internet service along the route that is having the problem gets fixed by whoever maintains it.
- The particular server or data storage site at FamilySearch that contains the information used in the feature is having trouble. This resolves when the problem is fixed and that service re-booted.
- The feature is being actively updated. This resolves when the update is complete.
Since we are getting near the time when the old home page is going to be retired, I would not be surprised if anything on the old and new homepages gets rather unstable now and then as that conversion and update process is completed.

Curiouser and curiouser….since we have 80+ computers on the FS server at our center and only one of our patrons was affected on her account, plus mine temporarily. She had changed no settings. This morning at home, the task box is back on my laptop computer and iPad but but not on my phone app. I’ve rebooted and still nothing. I’ll just tell our patrons the home page is under development and update and to expect occasional instability. I hope hers does not persist as she was quite actively researching the source hints. Thank you.
