Following profiles no longer works for me

Hi there. For the last couple of weeks, whenever I click on Follow or the follow star in a profile, it doesn't work and I get the error message "Something went wrong with following this person. Please try later.".

Is this a recognised problem? For background info, I am following 4,000 profiles of my ancestors and relatives. Have I perhaps reached some form of unpublicised maximum?

4,000 is the limit of profiles one account can follow. See: https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/can-i-follow-an-individual-in-family-tree "You follow up to 4,000 people in Family Tree."

Thanks Áine. That's a shame as following profiles is a very important part of my use of FamilySearch, but if those are the limits then I can do nothing about it.
