Accessing "protected" family history publications

How does one gain access to "protected" family history copyrighted texts located in Family History Archives?

    It depends on the particular text/book. Some may be available at an Affiliate Library or FSC (FamilySearch Center). Some may only be available in Salt Lake City. Sometimes, you will find that the same text is also available on another site, such as InternetArchive or Google Books.

    Perhaps providing an example would help in your being provided with an answer to your general question.

    In some cases, the answer could be that you are totally unable to gain access to the material in question. For other examples, there might be alternative sources through which you can gain access to these texts.

    And I always check worldcat to see if the book (if it is a book) is available at a nearby library.
