Roll • The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Record of Members (Worldwide), 1836-1970

This week I was pleased to receive two transcriptions of baptisms. EVENT PLACE IS NOT UTAH, UNITED STATES!! This is definitely London, England. My concern is that viewers could be deceived. While one branch of this family were early pioneers to Utah two other branches stayed in St Louis and their descendants are not church members. This is my 1st cousin 3x removed.

@Carole Haines Stanford Looking at the record in question (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6NG2-3RDC) we can see that, since images are not available for this record collection, you are not able to edit it to correct errors. So, we have to deal with the error as it is, since FamilySearch does not typically reopen closed indexing projects in order to correct indexing errors.

We see that the record is already attached to Elizabeth Frances Terry in Family Tree. So, go to her Sources in Family Tree (https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/sources/KWJC-F8L). Click the Record of Members entry. Near the top of the information about the source, click Edit. In the notes field, explain the error. Noting that the Church Name is clearly in London is a way to help others see why Utah is not the correct event place.

Then go to the Details tab on her tree profile. Scroll to Other Information and edit the Custom Event that says Membership so that it reflects her membership being in England rather than Utah.

Those steps can at least lessen confusion on the part of others.
