How do I request a placename is added to the database as a Parish?

Currently, the only categories for a placename to be added are as shown below. I merely want a place added in the ancient name for the parish, not the town. Will putting this request in the "Additional Information" section of the form lead to this happening? (I have to choose "Town", or one of the other options, in order to proceed with my request from the page below.)

    I believe putting the actually-needed place category in the text of your suggestion should have the desired effect -- the requests are handled by people, not by anything automated.

    Alternately, you could try the email address ([email protected]), bypassing the form and its "none of the above" list of categories.

    The other option, but maybe not as efficient, is to go to the Places group and post the request. I'm not sure how often those requests get pulled off and sent to the right people, however.

    Thanks for the suggestion, Gordon. I had already checked the Places group, but there had only been one post this month and there doesn't seem to be much participation by moderators. Didn't give me much confidence any request would be picked-up from there.

    Update - I just noticed the advice from a member of the group (possibly a moderator) was not to post requests there, but to request via https://www.familysearch.org/research/places/?pagenum=1&pagesize=20&feedbackCreate=true or send an email to [email protected] (the latter also being suggested by Julia, above).

    Hadn't see the post not to use the group and still can't find it so thanks for letting me know to drop that piece of advice.

    @Gordon Collett

    Perhaps I did misinterpret the comment made as definitely "not" to post requests at the Places group, but this is the comment to which I was referring:

    https://community.familysearch.org/discussion/comment/495939#Comment_495939

    I don't know if russellwaltgeorge1 is a moderator (his profile merely states "Member"), but he has subsequently addressed other queries (without making the above comment) and has also referred to "we" (FamilySearch?) having taken certain action on an issue.

    Judging by the relatively sparse use and participation of members / moderators in the Places group, I would probably still say it would appear better to use one of the two stated alternatives to request new places to be added to the database.

    Paul,

    I am one of the moderators. In this case because the default types do not include the Parish, I suggest you do use the Partron Request email address ([email protected]). Please be specific of what you would like added. For example the place name, location and a resource we can use as a citation to justify it does or did exsist.

    Thank you for your response. I had assumed you were a moderator, but had doubts due to your not using that designation in your Community profile. I have already followed through with my reports and will keep an eye open for any updates in the database.

    One of these days I'll record the date that I make a place suggestion -- inevitably, the reply comes so much later that I have only vague memories of making the suggestion, and the reply never quotes my submission in any form. Thus, I have no idea when (or why) I made the suggestion that I got a response to just yesterday. I'm pretty sure it wasn't this year.
