FamilySearch - a division of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Produces the completely free to all users genealogy website FamilySearch.org.
Family Tree - The FamilySearch.org website has several major sections. One being a huge collection of digital images of historical records a percentage of which have been indexed to created searchable database of those records. Another being Family Tree which is a wiki-style, open-edit, world-wide family tree for all of humanity to which all users work together to contribute their time and research efforts to add information about their families to this single tree. (see: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/overview )
Ancestry - a private corporation owned by The Blackstone Group. Produces the subscription website Ancestry.com which has databases of historical records, provides a place for users to create and manage online single-user trees which only that one user can add to or edit.
RootsTech - a yearly genealogy conference put on by FamilySearch with the help of multiple sponsors. Has multiple keynote speakers, updates from industry, and a few hundred classes on various family history topics. On their website you can view all the classes for the past few years. (See: https://www.familysearch.org/rootstech/)
As with all websites, updates are frequent. FamilySearch has recently made major updates to portions of their site and I would expect more are in the works.
FamilySearch and Ancestry have some business arrangement as far as shared record sets and shared indexing projects but are not related.
