Cell phone, family tree, can no longer edit the photo of an ancestor

A friend has no computer, but is using her cell phone, both Android and iPhone. She reports that about a week ago, she can no longer edit the profile of any ancestor on her phone, either one. She clicks on the photo of that ancestor, and tries to edit it, zoom in, but when she clicks on the photo, it comes up with a blank screen. We can see that blank screen is reported in other posts. This friend was able to edit her ancestors in this manner before last week.

I was able to replace and edit portraits in the Family Tree app (Android). I clicked on the circle containing the picture and then clicked on the blue pencil icon in the bottom right corner of my screen.
- Choosing edit, there was a circle around the face with a little green dot at about 5 o'clock. Pulling the dot in or out, I could resize the image area that shows on the person page.
- Choosing replace, I added a new photo using File and clicked Save. It did not immediately save to the portrait, but when I clicked the back arrow to the "Select From" list, the new picture was in both Attached Photos and FamilySearch Gallery. Choosing either location, I could choose the new picture and click Upload. From there I could touch the image to create the green dot and size the frame circle accordingly.
Please let us know if this works for your friend. Maile 🙂
