Can it still be sent to a local Family Serach library or can a researcher access/search it for me? or can i get copies made from the microfilm?

The document is: Register of slaves brought into Perry County, Alabama, 1820-1832

Family History LibraryUnited States & Canada 2nd Floor Film1672428 Item 3 7651674

Thank you!!

Microfilms have not been available for distribution since August 2017. All FamilySearch microfilms have been converted into digital format, but some images cannot be viewed outside of Salt Lake City.

There are independent researchers in Salt Lake who may be able to view it for you. There are some volunteers; some do it for a fee. Since it is an Alabama record, I'm a little surprised not to find it listed as available at the Alabama Archives. You might try contacting ADAH to see if they may have it, too.

Ah, I see said the blind man. On my phone...

The ADAH link above indicates it is unrestricted in their digital collections:

    https://digital.archives.alabama.gov/digital/collection/voices/id/22876

It shows image copy of the book - versus FSL microfilm - so hopefully an even better experience! Idea: It might be nice if the FSL catalog referred to this unrestricted Archive record. I love it when Archives share a digital copy!

@MeredithG You may also want to try the FamilySearch Library Lookup service - especially if you have names/pages (if the book index led you to info). I am not finding that exact title in Search> Books - is that the exact title?

@genthusiast I found it using the film number that Meredith cited in her post. https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/523696

Oh my goodness I didn’t think I’d get responses so quickly! Thank you both sooo much @genthusiast and @Áine Ní Donnghaile!!! @genthusiast you are amazing!!! Thank you so much for the link, I almost didn’t even bother asking the question, because I thought I did a fairly thorough search for the document and just about gave up all hope.

Thanks for the compliment. I can follow my nose - once I open my blind eyes. 🤣

I hope the resource helps you in your search. 👍️ Thank you ADAH!
