WHO ELSE is having trouble editing profiles??
Ever since they upgraded to the new profiles, I've had a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE trying to update fields of info on family members' profiles. Anyone else experienced this?
First example:
DATES
When trying to update a date field (say birth), I've found that I have to totally delete the existing date and retype and standardize it. Sometimes I even have to save it as a blank field before updating.
LOCATIONS
When trying to update a location (say place of death), I've found similar issues--you often have to delete the field, save it blank, then refill. If you don't use the standardized location (I prefer NOT to include townships), it struggles to update. For instance, I manually typed "Kyana, Dubois, Indiana, United States" and even tabbed down to "standardize" it, yet all it saved was the first word "Kyana." I had to delete and reenter that info several times before it saved.
I could go on and on with examples, but this just begun happening when they forced us to use the new profiles. I resisted until then, for just this reason. Am I the only one?

The updated pages have changed the method for entering dates and places just a little bit. So the funny quirks in the old system have been replaced by a couple of funny quirks in the new system. But it does work just as well when you get used to them.
I've put together a presentation on how to add and edit place names that you should find helpful. You can view it at: https://youtu.be/62INkorRTDA The same methods work just as well for dates.
There are a few situations where the place entry is a bit stubborn on insisting you use a set standard without modification, but those are fairly rare.

Ditto, also the new interface ignores:
- Reduced motion settings in both the Browser and OS - with the pointless, non functional, animated sliding transitions, WHATEVER, the accessibility setting indicate.
- Device screen size, with Dialog boxes that can't be completed on a STANDARD (the most Popular) iPad in Landscape mode, via the onscreen keyboard, as the top margins are way too big, and force the entry boxes and buttons behind the on screen keyboard.
- No mechanism to disable, or at least shunt to an on SUBMIT, slow, JQuery place name suggestions / validation, let alone the unhelpful, unique, date editing logic.
Needs a rewrite, to firstly comply with accessibility legislation, and IF the reduced motion OPTION are set in the browser of OS, it complies with its statutory duty, to NOT force pointless, frivolous animations on users. While at it a Party streamer, frivolity mode slider should really be added to the page headers, for those users who want / don't want the UI Developers non-functional additions. IF user disabled, all the non functional JavaScript animations, place suggestions, date editing blocking, non W3C standard styling should be disabled, while for those electing to have the frivolous additions, they have the option to enable the overlay of whatever stylistic filter the UI Dev's has dreamed up.
