Good day

Firstly, thank you for the hard work and effort on familysearch.org. Without this I would not have learnt so much about my ancestors and other family history.

If I click Search and then Records and I enter under First Names: Andries Jacobus and under Last Names: Viljoen then I do not find the Death Notice or Estate document in the Search Results on your website. Even if I specify the correct Birth year and Death Year and Country as South Africa, it never appears in the Search Results.

However, in our family tree on geni.com another family had a reference as per below for your website which had these exact documents. Why does your search results not show these documents if it is on your server?

This is the link to the documents I am referring to: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSDP-D4V5?mode=g&cat=2144007

Thank you

Kind regards

Miranda Davids

The records on DGS 102784093 have not been indexed. If they have not been indexed, records will not show in results from a search.

You can find them - as you apparently did - in a manual search or a browse of the digitized film, much as we did when using the microfilm on a manual reader, slowly turning the crank. The record set is South Africa, Transvaal, Estate files, 1963-1976 https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/2272079 The camera icon with no magnifying glass indicates that the images are available to view but cannot be searched by name/date/place because they have not been indexed.

From the URL in your message - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSDP-D4V5?cat=2144007 - we can see at the bottom of the page the message "No indexes are available"

    Hope this information helps.
