concerning step parents

I have a very good relationship with all of my parents. This includes my mother and father, and my step mom and step dad. As such I do family history work on all lines. It is fairly cumbersome to switch between the lines and to search all of them. I find my self having to reselect the preferred parents over and over. I wish there were a way to leave the preferred parents blank and or to be able to see all of my lines on the same screen as well. I am also afraid that my tree has become a total mess because of me trying to do this.

    I can see how removing the preferred setting might be advantageous to you - but I am also unaware of such an option. Question: in the tree view do you not have the chevrons/down pointing Vs next to the names of those that may have more than one spouse? The image below shows upon clicking a chevron to display other spouses it changes to an inverted V - highlighted in blue - and opens a card showing spouses which can be selected from for that tree position. If you use those it may help navigate the tree to the step parents easier?
