Locking a profile or DNA Proven as a Vital record.

I have my unknown father attached to me in my tree. All I know is his surname. (This came from 2 DNA tests.)

People keep removing the relationship dispite sources, notes and Alerts. It removes an entire side of my tree, with many relationships proven by DNA.

Unless you have given someone access to your log-in credentials, or you have marked yourself as deceased, it should not be possible for the Unknown profile to be disconnected from you. Profiles of the living (you) can only be seen or edited by the person who created the profile.

@BonnieNapierDay I assume your mother is also known? If both mother and father are deceased and someone keeps removing the Unknown father from her - I don't know anymore prevention steps than you already mentioned. I guess you'll have to keep reattaching him. When the 'My Tree' feature - announced at Rootstech 2023 - is released hopefully it will prevent this from continuing.

@genthusiast the Unknown profile will still be attached to Bonnie.

No one has my log in. This is the 2nd time in two months that someone has done this. Last time I contacted the person and they got annoyed when I explained why it was done that way. The way I have it set up was suggested to me by a search Angel.

Both my unknown father and my bio mother are passed on. Hopefully that addition comes soon.

It wasn't the last time this was done right at the beginning of Roots Tech. He, and all the associated work, was removed from both me and my Mother.

@Áine Ní Donnghaile her - referring to the mother... Since I don't know their names I referred to what is 'known'/potentially known (Unknown father).

    Her is mom

All I know about my dad is his Surname.

    A bit of backstory:

My dad is one of three brothers. All three have passed on and never tested. My nearest DNA relative to my dad is my 1st cousin. My Search Angels said that due to that match that one of these three was my dad, but without DNA I may never know his full name.

@BonnieNapierDay I guess you could add your Unknown father as Living and then link him to the previous generation. Then whomever wouldn't know you have him linked. That should keep your connection to the prior generation.
