do I use my married name or maiden name? My name is Susan Parrott. My maiden name is Wallace. Yet when you mention me for relatives you suggest Parrott

When it comes to Family History, it is a good practice to us your maiden name.

In general, stick with maiden names in genealogy -- but for your profile on FamilySearch's Family Tree, nobody will ever see that besides you, so you can put in whatever you feel like. I leave my surname blank, for example.
