I am reviewing the batch listed below. I can't find an example to verify that I am doing this correctly. Can someone look at this and help me? Thanks.

Hi @Sally Ann Simmons PI Example 1 shows the correct indexing for this type of record for Book/Vol and Page Refererence. For Recorded Year, the Purple ? tells us ..."If only a 2-digit number was recorded, you can sometimes determine the first 2 digits of a 4-digit year from other information, such as the project dates or other contextual information on the image..." Notice the Project Date is 1860-1917 which means the Recorded Year would be corrected in review to read 1891 according to PI "...If multiple recorded dates were recorded, index the first recorded date at the top of the list...." Thanks for asking and for sharing the batch # Mary😎

The Book Letter is W, Book Page is 507, year is 1891.

@maryellenstevensbarnes1 is correct, the first example shows how to index this type of record. H and 264 are the Old Ref No., which we do not index. Under What To Remember About This Project in the Project Instructions:

When indexing the book or volume number and page reference number, do not index the "Old Ref" number.

It is imperative that everyone, whether indexing or reviewing, read the Project Instructions (this is not reflecting on you, Sally. You had a question and did the right thing by asking). Project Managers don't put them there for kicks; they are there so both indexers and reviewers provide the most accurate transcriptions possible.
