Why records are not showing in the fan chart print view when I select print?

I have entered records which I want to print in the fan view. However when I selected print the print preview is only showing one ancestor.

I'm not sure I understand your question.

Here's a fan of my family, using my grandfather as the root. Since you mentioned wanting records to show, I have used the "sources" option in the fan.

The key indicates how many sources are attached for each ancestor. If I don't have an ancestor in a generation, the segment is blank.

Is that what you mean or do you have a different question?

    Hi Áine,

Thanks for your response. Your fan chart looks good and I want to get mine to look like yours.

I uploaded screenshots which I hope explains my problem better. As you can see from my fan chart view, I do have data entered. However, when I go to the print preview only my grandfather is showing as the root.

I hope you can guide me as to what I may be doing incorrectly.

    Thanks for your assistance.

You've chosen George Crichlow GVXC-M89 as the root of your tree, but Mr. Crichlow has no sources and no ancestors attached. His fan is, therefore, blank, as in your image.

You have to attach records (sources) to his profile, and find and attach his parents and grandparents for his fan to be filled in as in my example.

    Many thanks for the guidance.

Also, I observed that in your fan your records are arranged in chronological order from left to right according to the year of birth.

Although I have entered the birth records for family members their names are not appearing in the order in which they were born.

    What am I doing incorrectly?

My fan is not ordered by date of birth. One of my ancestral couples may have been born earlier than the one next to them, but that is only a coincidence.

From left to right, the fan tree is ordered paternal then maternal. With my grandfather as the root, his father is on the left, and his mother is on the right. In the next generation, his father's parents are on the left, and his mother's parents are on the right. And so on.

When you fill in more generations in your portion of the tree, you will see those people/relationships and the pattern will be clearer.
