Dear family Search

I have tried to remove Caroline Regine Bratz GVPY-NM2 from the Source Linker linking her to Carl Friedrich Pietsch KC1T-MGZ by a marriage in 1842. But the Source Linker refuses to accept that the mother of his children is Wilhemenia Brauer even after I have made a statement under NOT A MATCH.

Caroline GVPY-NM2 is linked to Carl GV5B-F8F

Wilhelmine K8RS-FW7 is linked to Carl KC1T-MG

Both men are born in 1820 to a Marie Palmroth, each with her own ID as well.

I don't see anything linking the Wilhemine's Carl to Caroline. If the system is giving you a hint that the two men need to be merged or that Wilhemine's Carl should be married to Caroline, tell it that it is not a match.

If I have misunderstood your complaint, please attach a screen shot or a link to the problem.

    Thanks. Maile🙂

When you use Source Linker to attach an indexed record to a Family Tree profile, it uses the hinting system's data to figure out which profile to put in the right-hand column -- but you can change its selection. If there is confusion between two similar profiles, you'll need to pay extra attention to make sure you have the correct people selected.

In your specific case, it looks like there may have been two different men named Carl Friedrich Pietsch? They have similarly-named parents but different wives, according to what's currently in the Tree.
